Author, Speaker, Filmmaker, Trauma Survivor & Advocate
For over 17 years, I’ve built a world-class career as a filmmaker, creative strategist, and Glidecam Master Operator — trusted by global brands and industry leaders for my visual storytelling and innovation.
But behind the lens was a life shaped by years of complex trauma. What began as a fight to survive in a violent and unpredictable home turned into a lifelong search for safety, identity, and healing. I lived with the effects of Complex PTSD long before I had a name for it — channeling everything into my work without knowing the cost.
It wasn’t until I began EMDR therapy that the truth of my survival came into focus. The success I had built wasn’t just talent — it was trauma trying to stay alive. The creative drive was born not from ambition, but from pain I couldn’t speak out loud.
Out of Fight or Flight, my memoir, tells the truth behind the camera: a journey through trauma, therapy, and reclaiming my life. Now, I use my voice, my art, and my story to help others feel less alone in their healing.
Out of Fight or Flight isn’t just a book. It’s a mirror for those living with the invisible weight of trauma. It’s the story of what it means to survive — and what it takes to heal.
Every page was written through the lens of EMDR therapy, a method that helped me process deeply buried pain, dissociation, and childhood violence. I wrote this book while I was actively in trauma therapy — not after healing, but in the thick of it. It was raw, revealing, and necessary.
I wanted to tell the truth — not just about what happened to me, but what it feels like to live with Complex PTSD and walk the slow, nonlinear path of healing. If you're reading this and carrying something heavy, I want you to know: you're not alone.
I bring raw honesty, cinematic storytelling, and lived experience to every conversation. Whether I’m speaking to survivors, therapists, creatives, or curious minds, I aim to offer something real — insights that meet people where they are and honor the complexity of trauma and healing.
Interview Topic Highlights
Out of Fight or Flight: Returning to the Self After Trauma
I share the personal story behind my memoir — how I survived childhood violence, kidnapping, and emotional shutdown, and what it took to find my way back through EMDR therapy. This is a conversation about coming home to the self that trauma tried to erase.
Inside EMDR: What Healing Felt Like in Real Time
This isn’t a clinical breakdown of EMDR — it’s a lived one. I speak about what EMDR looked and felt like in the room: the chaos, the protector, the storm, and the quiet moments where I started to feel safe for the first time in my life. I even talk about other parts I discovered that happened after I wrote the book.
What the Body Remembers: Healing Beyond Talk
I lived in fight or flight for most of my life. In this topic, I speak to what the body remembers long after the mind forgets — and what it took to feel again. We explore nervous system healing, dissociation, and how trauma lives in the body until it's witnessed.
Creative Survival: How Storytelling Helped Me Stay Alive
Before I could name what was happening to me, I used a camera to speak for me. I share how filmmaking and photography became tools of survival and transformation, and how creative expression continues to be part of my healing.
